To unlock layer press padlock icon on top of layers stack on LAYERS palette, when padlock icon on right side of layer is gone do what you want to do with that layer.

∙ 13y agograb the white background with the magic wand tool then inverse it and you will have the image selected and at this point you can copy and paste it to a new layer.

Number of ways. - If you have a picture open in PS then use the rectangular marquee tool to select the picture you want to copy. Then go click EDIT > Copy. The picture - open you picture you want to copy this to and once opened click into the picture - go click EDIT > PASTE. Your additional picture will open in a new layer (similar to a picture on picture)
open both in photoshop and just hit control+c and go to the one you want to copy into and hit control+v. if you want to learn hot keys just click on the layer of the one you want to copy and pick the black arrow tool by hitting v. after that just drag it to the other image and you will have a new layer.
With a graphic program such as Adobe Photoshop. You create a layer, paste your logo/watermark, adjust the size/position and then adjust the transparency of the layer. Once the watermark meets your visual needs, merge all layers or save as an image (i.e. jpeg, tiff, bmp, etc.)
Easy way is to right click on fx which is located on the right side of layer (not fx at bottom of LAYERS panel) and choose Copy Layer Style, then right click on layer where you want to paste style and choose Paste Layer Style.
On ms paint, use the select tool (dotted square) and select your image. Press ctrl+c. Open Photoshop and press ctrl+v. This will copy and paste the image from ms paint to photoshop. You could also save the file in ms paint and open it in photoshop.

It depends on the image editor. In Photoshop there's a option of "Place" under the "File" menu. Copy and paste sometimes works or drag and drop from a Windows Explorer (e.g. My Documents) window.
In Photoshop You can add text with Type Tool which is located at Toolbar on left side of screen, press letter T on keyboard to activate it. To insert image into another image You can from File > Place or open another image, convert Background layer to normal if You have only Background layer (double click text Background at LAYERS palette and confirm on OK) then click with Move Tool active (press letter V to activate) and drag image into another.
Gifs will not allow you to create additional layer or add images to the background layer, even if saved out as a different format, so what you will need to do is open up a new photoshop document and move the image into that. You can easily do that by:zoom out of the picture until all edges of the canvas are visible.Select the entire canvas using the Rectangular Marquee tool.Select Copy from the Editmenu.Select New from the Filemenu. Photoshop should have inserted the dimensions for the new canvas from the selection you made.Select Paste from the Editmenu to paste the image back in.You now have a new document with the same image that you can add layers or other images to.This image can be saved out as a gif again, or you can save it out as a psd file to preserve your layers, or any other file format that isn't as restrictive as gifs if you wish.
You can Anti Alias either fonts or vectors shapes only ... if you bring in your own image, let's say by copy and paste, your best bet would be to blur the edges. See: "Photoshop Feathered Edges" in google search.
