USB mouse should go into most laptops.
Buy a new mouse.
Unplug your USB chord. Blow in the spot you put it in. Place the USB back into the spot.
its actually quite easy to fix, 1.go on to control panel. 2.type in 'mouse' 3.when it comes up, click on 'mouse' 4.then change the settings to mouse sensor. 5. then go onto mouse settings and ENABLE it, 6.you might not think you have disabled it but you actually have, its exactly what I did.
You Plug a USB mouse into a USB Drive in the laptop, and now you can use your usb mouse with your laptop for anything.
There is a USB slot on the side of the laptop, but the mouse USB in there.

Re boot your lap top (switch off and then start it again), this usually works.
A wireless Microsoft mouse is a good mouse to use for a laptop. A wireless mouse is recommended because it is easier to use without wires getting in the way.
Why would you use a cordless mouse on top of your laptop? That's kind of a weird idea...
You can buy an external mouse and hook it up to your laptop, they can go as cheap as $5-$10 dollars for a mouse. Or if you dont want to haul around an external mouse, you can unscrew your laptop and buy a replacement mouse trackpad, the whole repair is about $50.00-$60.00
If you have a working usb port on your laptop, you can buy a wireless mouse for it. Most wireless mice work with a usb connecter which needs to stay plugged into your laptop.
