You can use the WEEKDAY function, which will give a number from 1(Sunday) to 7(Saturday), to indicate the day of the week. So say your date was in cell A2, then the function could be put into another cell, like this:
=WEEKDAY(A2)
You can also format the date to show the day in different ways. See the related question below.
Try this formula: =NOW() If you don't want the time, the formula is =TODAY()
Type this formula in the cell (including the 'equals' signand the empty parentheses):=TODAY()Then, make sure the date in your computer is correct.That's the only way Excel knows the date.
A date series is used to fill a series with dates. The date can be increased by either a day, a week, a month or a year each time. This is one of the Fill Series options Excel provides.
Put your date of birth in cell A1 as a date. Then in cell A2 type the following formula:=weekday(A1)You will get a number between 1 and 7, telling you what day of the week that you were born on.1 is Sunday2 is Monday3 is Tuesday4 is Wednesday5 is Thursday6 is Friday7 is SaturdayYou can put any date into A1 and it will give you the correct day in A2. Try today's date, by holding the Ctrl key and then pressing the ; key.
This question is not clear. You can use dates in a formula, but you can not assign a formula value to a date. If you are trying to use dates in formulas, use them like you would any other number. If A1 contains a date, you can show the date six days earlier by using the formula =A1-6.
=IF(G17="","No Audit on File",(IF(G17>TODAY(),"Valid","Expired"))) Works!!
In Excel an equation can be a formula. All formulas in Excel must start with the equals sign. That is what tells Excel it is a formula.
First you need to extract the 3 parts from it for the year, month and day. After that you can use the DATE function to make it into a date. You can then format that cell into a date format. So if 20130113 is in cell A2, then in another cell you could use this formula: =DATE(LEFT(A2,4),MID(A2,5,2),RIGHT(A2,2))
go into the address bar and i think you type in a certain formula and it should give you your current date and time, longitude and latitude (if you allow it) in a moment or two.
The formula is =NOW(). Ensure you format the cell to display the date format you want.
There is no formula error button in Excel. However, there is an Error Checking button on the Formulas ribbon in the Formula Auditing section in Excel 2007.
I you have a worksheet that updates the date in a cell to the current date, edit the cell to change to the date you want displayed. Most likely, the cell is using the formula =NOW() or some other date function to automatically assign a date to the worksheet. When you replace the formula with the date you want to display, your date will remain until you change it.
