Rapidshare has the ability to carry certain viruses, but it is important to note that the majority of the files on Rapidshare are clear of any virus, trojan, spyware, or worm. Of course, it is always intelligent to scan anything you download from sites such as these with a trusted antivirus/antispyware. Someone mightintentionally upload something that will harm your computer, while most others will likely not. Some people have had bad experiences with online file downloads, to where I, personally, have not. Simply, it all depends - yes it can, but most of the time it won't.
