Absolutely a geographic imposibility! While a meerkat occasionally will eat some plant material, they live in the Kalahari Desert of Africa and cacti only live in the deserts of the Americas. Meerkats are primarily insectivores but also feed on other small animals such as lizards, scorpions, snakes, etc.
The meerkats in Meerkat Manor live in the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
Many states will not allow you to own even a single meerkat, let alone an entire meerkat family. If these animals are allowed to be owned privately where you live, you can get a license by applying to your local State Fish and Game Department, or similar organization.
