series is newer in ata like series ata and ata the old one is parallel ata
Serial ATA are thin cables that don't hinder airflow inside a case as much as the wide parallel ATA cables do.
A CD drive can interface with a mother board using an EIDE, SATA or SCSI interface.
A parallel ATA connector can use one data cable for two drives.
The cables are smaller and allow for better airflow Because serial ATA cables are thinner, They do not hinder air flow as much as wider parallel ATA cables
SCSI
EIDE
A "serial to parallel" converter converts a serial data connection to a parallel data connection. For example, in computer storage, there are controller chipsets that convert SATA (Serial ATA) to PATA (Parallel ATA, also called IDE or EIDE).
Most CD and DVD ROM drives still come in PATA.
Ata Demirer's birth name is Ali Ata Demirer.
Depending on the drive being installed you have to use either a serial ATA interface, or a paralell ATA interface. The power/data connectors are different so you would not be able to interchange the cables.
Parallel ATA. See related links.
