No. There is no known software that will enable you to use this scanner on Vista. Sorry. I wish there were because I have one.
With series Christmas lights, if one burns out, the whole string stops working. With parallel Christmas lights one light burning out only affects that light. This makes it much easier to replace burned out lights in the case of the parallel lights.
There are actually many places to rent a duplex scanner. They could be ordered online or rented in store. Some places are myscannerrental, rushcomputer, formreturn and inceptiontech.
A scanner "looks" at a sheet of paper and transfers a digitalized version to the computer.
Ignoring the problems that biometric devices often have of false negatives (i.e. the scanner doesn't recognise you because you didn't put your finger on it correctly), one problem with using any biometric device (such as a fingerprint scanner) is that if someone figures out a way to "spoof" (fool) the scanner, there is no way to change your fingerprint. For example, if my credit card is stolen I can cancel it. If my password is stolen, I can change it. If someone has my fingerprints, well, I guess there is nothing I can do to stop them from accessing whaterver system they unlock.
