Transport layer is the fourth layer in the OSI model. Transport layer is responsible for process to process delivery of entire message. Other than that it also control connection, flow of data and error , thus will resend the packet if it get lost in between.
The data link layer is responsible for the moving of the frames from one hop to another and the delivery of packets within the same network. But when there is the need to send the packets form one network to another then the network layer comes into play and with the help of logical addess being provided by the network later as well as with the help of routers or switches the packets are being reached to the desired destination. layer 3
The PDU at the Network layer is referred to as a packet. A PDU at the Data Link Layer is referred to as a frame.
The network layer is the layer that is responsible for routing packets on the network. This is the layer in which Internet protocol operates. In the seven layer OSI model, the network layer is the third layer from the bottom.
Session Layer traced lost Packets.
At which layer lost packets are traced?
internet
This protocol would be the NIC (Network Interface Card). The NIC takes frames from layer 2 and converts them into electrical siginal's
Network Layer ( 3 )
transport layer of osi model is responsible for end to end delivery of packets over a network
network layer
I think PDR= Packets Received / Packets Sent Packets sent/received values should be from same layer. i.e. all from application layer or network layer...etc
