It is believed that the concept of Rule 34 as we know it originated on a website called "zoomout." Pornography of the most bizarre things already existed on the internet, but the term itself appears to have come from someone on zoomout by the user name of "Electric Eggs" (his real name is apparently not known) after someone sent him pornography of the comic Calvin and Hobbes. Electric Eggs, who co-owned a webcomic posted a strip showing his reaction along with the caption "Rule # 34: There is porn of it. No exceptions."

What happens when the rules of different memes conflict? Say you have Rule 34 and Forever Alone memes. Forever Alone is supposed to be forever alone, and Rule 34 says everything has p0rn of it. So what happens? Which rule gives out to let the other play out, and why that one?
