Also, Sonic the Fighters was itself based on another video game series by Sega called Fighting Vipers. Originally available for the Sega Saturn and playable in arcaeds, Sega re-released the game for the PS2 in Japan. If you don't it not being in English, give this a shot. Also, the Virtua Fighterseries is very similar and is by Sega, if you're willing to give it a shot.
