The former version of the answer posted here (by Homework Doer) is
"Technically it would be considered illegal. You are taking something and not paying for it which is what is known as stealing which is illegal."
This is probably a good answer from an advice standpoint, but it is way oversimplified.
The first "best answer" is that most Music Videos and movie clips on YouTube are posted by users in violation of copyright law. Only the owner of the copyright has the right to authorize its posting on YouTube. So if you copy anything illegal, your copy is also illegal.
Is what Freecorder does illegal? No. Freecorder simply captures the signal to your computer's output ports and stores the file in an appropriate format. Nothing illegal about that… so long as what is outputted to your port is something that you have the right to copy…. And that's where it gets tricky.
The music industry would have you believe that copying a song or video is illegal and that you must buy it. The truth here (as of December 2010, and that could change soon) is that DOWNLOADING or distributing music files and not paying for them is piracy.
When you record a streaming video from your computer's output port, you get into a legal gray area. Since the days of vinyl records and tape, an individual has had the right to make a single copy of a recording that they already purchased for personal listening only. This allowed people to take songs from various albums and make tapes that were compilations of favorite songs.
As the music industry went digital and songs could be downloaded individually, the product sold became individual recordings, not "albums" so the protection format required changing. Producers and artists have fought hard to make the copying or downloading of any copyrighted material, in any form, illegal if a royalty is not paid. Remember, this is how many people make their living. Not just the singer. The musicians and producers may also be receiving royalties for their part in a recording.
As for YouTube, the poster of any content holds the copyright for any material that is original or for which they have secured the rights in that content; and all other material belongs to the original copyright holder.
SO… THE BEST ANSWER IS:
"No, you cannot legally copy any copyrighted material that is on YouTube just because your software's function is legal. If you didn't legally post it on YouTube yourself, you don't own the copyright to it and someone else does. Copying that content without paying the rights holder to do so is 'piracy' and is illegal."
yes because it is not aloud at school it is bad for you to do this with out tearchers knowing that you did that to your computer.
ANSWERyes, it will say in the small - print of CDs and DVDs that it is illegal to copy or use the files for anything other than personal use, so it's probably illegal on You Tube anyways. To be honest, if you don't pay for it, it's probably illegal
My You Tube account name is the same as this one (shutup69er)
Hope This helps!!
video2mp3.net lets you grab music from a youtube video and then turns it into an mp3 file which you can then download. BUT, bear in mind that unless there is a download link available on a YouTube video's page, it is against the Terms and Conditions of YouTube to download videos or soundtracks.
i-Pods, radios, speakers, television, computers, youtube
poor sound quality. Record players are much better for music.
You can record music from a tape, album, or MP3 to your computer. You will need a wire with the RCA jacks on one end, and s miniature jack on the other. You can get one from Radio Shack for about $5. The software that I use is called Spin It Again.
Copy the URL from the Youtube video you wish to download, then paste it in the URL box. Then, simply hit download and select the location where you wish for the downloaded file to go. The file will then be in video format, if you want an actual MP3 file, click the "Convert Video" circle and browse to the location of the downloaded file. I would suggest converting in the highest quality and in the loudest sound or you could have bad sound quality and very quiet music.
If you have a microphone, you can record it from YouTube in voice memo as long as you are not selling it, it is legal
If you just rip audio from YouTube for your personal use, it is legal and fast. I read a passage who told me how to do it easily.
There are many ways to do this, but the easiest way is to record you playing a cover of a song and then posting the video onto YouTube. You do have to consider copyrights and all of the legal stuff involved with posting music onto YouTube though.
no
Same thing i wanted to ask!!! I want to record music and make my own videos, but it won't let me when I try to upload music on youtube!
Downloaded music for free ANYWHERE is illegal. I do it anyway.
yes
If the record label doesn't want you to use their music on your video.
What model of iPod are you using? If you are using an iPod Touch, you can download the YouTube app directly from the Apple Store to your device. You can then stream YouTube Music just like you would on your computer or phone, but if you want to download songs for offline playback, you'll have to pay for a YouTube Premium membership. If you are using an older model of iPod, which is discontinued by Apple, your device will not be able to connect with the current model. Then your device will not be compatible with the current YouTube Music app. But that's not to say you can't play YouTube Music on it, I suggest you use TunePat YouTube Music Converter to download all your favorite songs from YouTube Music in MP3 format and then transfer them to your iPod for playback.
