I have (or had) 2 Flash drives, Imation 2GB and a Corsair 16GB. I accidently left them overnight lying next to an old magnet that had come out of a hard drive.

The next day the Imation works fine but the Corsair is a brick (albeit a very small one). not only have I lost all data but neither Win XP or Win 7 will recognise or find the drive. Had to send off to Corsair as it is still under warranty.

If I read any more rubbish about flash keys not being affected by magnets I'll shout very loudy in anger. The answer here is take care and do not leave with magnets since your gambleing with your data.
