This coin would have to be seen before an estimate could be made. I suggest you take it to a coin shop and have it appraised.
An American Silver Eagle coin's worth depends on the coin. Most proof versions are worth around $85 whereas and uncirculated versions are worth around $55-$100. Some issues are worth a large sum, such as the 1995-W proof, which is worth $3,500.
A 2000 American Eagle five dollar gold coin with a mint mark of "S" or "W" is worth in a MS 65: $110; if the "W" coin is in proof condition (PF65), the value is: $125.
By the way, this coin should be carrying a "W" mint mark (short for West Point).

The "W" is not a mint mark. If you look closely you'll see an "A" intertwined with the "W"; it's the monogram of the coin's designer A. A. Weinmann. The mint mark, if there is one, will be on the back of the coin near the word ONE. However, if the coin is gold in color it has either been plated for use in jewelry or exposed to some agent such as heat or chemicals. As such, it's considered to be an altered coin, so it's only worth its silver content of about $1 retail.
No 1994 W Proof Silver Eagles were struck, but they were struck in 1995 for the first time at the West Point Mint and they do have the "W" mintmark, this coin in the grade of PF-70 has a retail value of $15,000.00.
