well in the begining all of them were british like a teacher in my school. but then the American revolution happened and none of them are now!!!!

The US was not a country in 1760 and thus had no states. At that time, the US was still a British colony and composed of 13 colonies (which also became the first 13 states of the US).

Practically all 13 colonies fought for their independence but some people in some colonies were fence-sitters (couldn't decide) or loyalists (was still loyal to the British and was on British side).
The British established 13 colonies along North America's east coast, collectively known as the Thirteen Colonies. These colonies eventually formed the foundation of the United States.
Why was a weak national government created under the Articles of Confederation? The 13 states had not evolved a national identity. The 13 states were wary of a British-style government. The 13 states were unwilling to make compromises. The 13 states had conflicting economic interests.
