I swapped a 85 2x4 long bed Toyota cab onto a 85 4x4 short bed Toyota frame. It bolts to the frame just fine, but there are few changes you need to make. The speedomeitor cable is longer on the 4x4. The emergency brake cable is a different lenght. You will need to make a bigger hole in the cabs transmission tunnel for the transfer case shifter. Fuel lines from the fuel tank are different lenght. That is it.
While you are changing the cab use the extra rubber washers from between the cab and frame from the other cab on the 4x4. It gives you about 1 inch body lift on the cab for free. That makes a lot difference when unbolting the engine from the transmission while still in the truck. If you do to much body lift you have radiator mounting and other issues. stick to 1 inch to make it simple.
I really dont see why not. Try calling a Junk Yard.
They are the same. ANSWER they are the same if they are both 4x4 or both 2x4 because the 4x4 has popup pistons and the head is clearenced for them and the 2x4 has dish pistons and is not clearenced for the popup pistons
It will fit, obviously the body styles will clash abit, but no biggy
Stock Toyota exhaust system.
No
Yep. It will be a direct bolt in. You will need to replace trans w/ 2wd trans and get the drive shaft while your at it. Be sure you get the same wheel base or you may find yourself looking for the right driveshaft.
It depends on if its 4x4 or 2x4. On the 2x4 version its located on the rear of the transmission. If its 4x4 it is located on the transfer case.
Basically there are 6 variations of the Toyota Tundra. 3 different engines and 3 different body styles along with 2x4 and 4x4 drive trains. I suggest that you go to a Toyota dealer and ask your question. Oh and a whole bunch of options to pick from.
Almost impossible.
i have the 1991 toyota 4x4 with a g58 trans
If both are 4X4 then yes.
1 3/4 inches
