not necessarily true. Larger cubic inches usually make more torque, but usually at the expense of mileage. Besides more frictional loss, you have to feed those inches. Sometimes you can run a higher gear ( lower numerically ) to spin the motor slower and ger better mileage. For example , Corvettes run bigger cubes, but can get close to 30 mpg by engine management, aerodynamics and gearing. Some of the big barge 500 cu. in. Caddies of the 70's and 80's were known for their outstanding highway mileage cause they were just barely loafing along.
If Taken Care Of These Engines Will Give You Over 200,000 Miles.
CC or cubic centimeters is the measure of volume that the piston on an internal combustion engine displaces. Although a larger displacement engine would probably be more powerful there is no direct correlation between displacement and horsepower. In fact, many manufacturers of small single cylinder engines no longer give horsepower ratings on their engines.
Some cars have diesel engines because diesel engines give more mileage and diesel is cheaper than gasoline in some countries. In the UK diesel fuel costs more than gas but, because diesel engines give much better mileage (miles per gallon), people are still happy to pay more for the diesel fuel if they run diesel vehicles. Diesel engines last much longer and have much better torque at low revs than a petrol engine.
Texas is the second largest state in square mileage. Only Alaska is larger.
Any Haynes or Chilton guide for the vehicle that the engine belongs to will give you detailed engine overhaul procedures and can be found on Amazon or at your local auto parts store. Some engines such as the GM's 350 and 302 cubic inch engines have volumes written on them as well as ford 4.6L and 5.0L engines.
Eco means Economy the new engines when running at an optimal rpm with no change in acceleration switches from running on 6 cylinders to running on 3 or 4 to give you the best gas mileage
A litre is measured in litres, not in cubic centimetres. However, 1 litre is equivalent to 1000 cubic centimetres so, if you want more precise measurements, you can either give the measures in litres - to 3 decimal places - or give the corresponding measure in cubic centimetres. For example, 2.273 litres = 2273 cubic centimetres. Wouldn't that be 1,000 milliliters or 100 centiliters to equal a liter?
No
The available engines that year were a 200 cubic inch 6 cylinder, a 289 cubic inch 8 cylinder, and a 302 cubic inch 8 cylinder. Assuming you meant a 289, your best bet would probably be to purchase a carb kit, rebuild the carb, and follow the instructions for adjustment. That should give you a baseline to work with.
you may have changed the tire size which will give you incorrect mileage hence causing an erroneous gas mileage reading.
I can't give you cubic feet but here it the sq milage33.77 sq milesAlso "cubic area" is incorrect usage, a cubic measurement is a measurement of volume!
There is no real break-in period with the new engines. They all use an alloy of aluminum and silicon (as in quartz) to give ultimate wear resistance to piston rings and all give about 250,000 miles of service. The American made motors give as good if not better performance than that of the foreign competitors. The reduced gas mileage due to tight new motors is near minimum. The lubricants used now are much thinner due to higher tolerance in part wear surfaces and the lubrication is instant from the factory.
