Scammell/ Iron Horse and Six Wheeler were the first articulated commercial vehicles manufactured, they were manufactured in England in the 1920's The scarab was three wheel tractor. The engine and gearbox were attached to the steering quadrant and all turned at the same time. All of the traction was on the front wheel, it could turn in its own length,it had a "Scammel coupling" looking like a miniature railway junction, not at all like the 5th. wheel couplings of to-day. The six wheeler was a rear wheel chain driven design....
