Smogs
factiores and the gas they release smogs
The clean air act was made law to try to reduce dense smogs caused by smoke from household coal fires and industrial pollution becoming trapped by low laying fog. In Liverpool, my home city, I remember in my youth, dense winter smogs that were actually yellow!
The heat outside in the summer makes the chemicals in photochemical smog go higher.

Smog is a combination of water vapour (as in rain clouds) and industrial air borne pollution. Before the clean air act in Britain, the smoke from the countless coal-fires in the homes caused terrible smogs, so dense that at times to appear yellow.
Classical smog has a reducing nature due to abundance of Sulfur dioxide, whereas Photochemical smog is oxidising die to high concentrations of ozone and other oxidants.
Rain becomes acid rain when it mixes with pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from burning fossil fuels. These chemicals combine with water in the atmosphere to form sulfuric acid and nitric acid, lowering the pH of the rainwater and creating acid rain.
Actually air pollution has been less of a problem than ever. The people who suffer worst from air pollution are people who burn biomass (wood, food waste, dung) inside without proper ventilation. In cities outdoor air pollution was a problem which was made worse by industrialization. In London smog was common and deadly smogs happened every decade or so. Air pollution in most US cities peaked in the 1950's and is far less of a problem than when the first Earth Day was held in 1971.
In low voltage and electronics Leakage Current is any current that flows when the ideal current is zero. In medium and high voltage applications it is the current that flows either through the body or over the surface of an insulator. Leakage current often arises when outdoor insulation is submitted to conductive fog (sea mist/spray, industrial smogs) or when a pollution layer containing soluble salts is formed on the insulator surface and then wetted, for example by dew or mist. These currents can reach several hundred mA and may lead to flashover of the insulation.
Physical changes can lead to habitat destruction, loss of biodiversity, and disruption of ecosystem balance. Chemical changes can introduce harmful substances into the environment, leading to pollution, soil and water contamination, and harm to living organisms. Both types of changes can have long-lasting and negative impacts on the environment, affecting both ecosystems and human health.
