1.80$ per sqft
For existing asphalt, $5 to $7 per square foot, depending on size of the job, complexity, etc.
Lots of gray area there, but $2500ish.
240 SqFt / 9 SqFt/SqYd * $8.91/SqYd = $237.60
$130/sqft.

This depends on what size the stone is in the asphalt. Often on driveways or parking lots a HL3, HL3A(Fine), or HL2(driveway) mix is used, In this cases 1 ton of asphalt will cover ~85-90 sqft at 2.5inches thick... 2.5inches is measured pre-compression, after compression with a 3/4 ton to 2 ton roller there should be approx 2 inches (or just over). There are things that can change this.. mainly the temperature of the asphalt when it is rolled, and the size/amount of the stone and weight of roller). I own a paving company and a word to the wise, DON'T CHOOSE THE CHEAPEST COMPANY, because they are going to save by not giving your the amount of asphalt they say. Generally if a company is honest and say they are going to order 1 ton of asphalt per 100sqft, then that is sufficent, the thickness of the asphalt will be over 2.25 inches thick which really is enough. We work in the K-W region in Ontario Canada, and the difference in cost for a 600 sqft rip-out and repave is generally around $500 that's between us and the companies who really dont' give what they say. (with us 600 sqft is aprox 2100, with the cheaper fellows it is about 1600.) (2008 price) but our driveways will last at least twice as long if not longer. so the answer is 1 ton (2000lbs)= 90sqft at 2.5inches in Canada 1 tonne (1000kg) = 100sqft at 2.5inches. you want to ensure you are getting at least 1 ton (2000lbs) per 100sqft on your driveway
It'll cost you your marriage if you don't let your spouse in on the plan.
