it depends on what type of gas mileage you would get and how old the vehicle, it also depends on what make your vehicle is. I get 8 miles to the gallon in my 94 land cruiser, i spend $200 a month on gas, i replaced the Power Steering pump (by mt self) and spent $100 on that, I also replaced a brass housing and seals next to my axle, (also by myself) I spent about $175. Servicing the vehicle i.e. getting oil changed and tires rotated, oil change is often around $20 or free, and tire rotations at Costco are free. Tires themselves can cost from $50-300 depending on the vehicle and the grade of the tire.
