School buses are broken down into four categories. Type a Type b Type c Type d These are all different sizes. Type A's are generally the smallest, because they are used on a van chassis. But in 2010, IC corporation announced they would make a fully integrated type a, also known as the icae and the icac. Some companies, such as Mid bus, only make type A's. Type b's are usually integrated buses, and aren't very common anymore. They are bigger then type A's, but smaller then type c's. The only company that makes type b's is IC corporation. Type c's are the third biggest bus. They are placed on a truck chassis, and are very common. Almost all company's make type c's. They are the conventional bus. Type d's are the largest buses on the road. They are the flat nosed buses. They are divided into two categories. FE's, and RE's. FE is front engine, while RE is rear engine. They hold up to 90 passengers.
