Depends on what kind of trailer you have. If it's a van trailer, it'll be done by forklift or pallet jack. For a flatbed, hoists, cranes, and forklifts are common. For tankers, the load is piped in normally. For cattle trailers, you have to get the animals to walk into the trailer.
if you are using a slraight load 2 horse trailer and only hauling one horse you haul them on the left (drivers) side. this is said to prevent tipping.

This depends on the axle rating on the trailer...most likely a 5X8 has a light duty axle wich is less than 2000# but may be less doesnt matter what size trailer a load is on,but the legal height for any load on any vehicle is 13'6" however,common sense would tell you if a load is to high for safe towing
