Dr. Bruce Banner was testing a gamma bomb out in the desert. Right before the bomb went off- an orphan boy named Rick Jones accidentally drove into the test site. So Dr. Banner went to the test site and pushed him out of the way right before the bombhad goneoff. Dr. Banner got hit by the bomb and was exposed to gamma radiation which is what causes him to transform into the Incredible Hulk.
