Answer 1:
Yes, he would... depending on what happened!
Answer 2:
It's doubtful a real Superman would be happy on our planet.
I wonder if it's occurred to anyone how pointless life would seem for Superman. It's not like his strength is impressive to him. Imagine if you found yourself on a world of people made out of tissue paper who could only jump an inch and move at the speed of a snail.
Their eyes could only see half as well, like only in black and white, and only if it was high noon. Their minds would work at an IQ level of 70. Their hearing would be faint at best.
Their "weapons" would be tissue bullets propelled at the speed of sloth. Your biggest dilemna would be which of your human skills to use to get out of the childishly simple non-problems posed you.
To them, you'd be "Superman", and you could kill all the tissue paper bad guys and monsters there you wanted to.
But would you be proud? Would it give you satisfaction?
What contempt would you feel that the simple addition of glasses fooled them all? That they never noticed the obvious, that their tissue paper cars crumpled upon hitting you? That they were a race of petulant and suspicious beings who would hound you unmercifully if you did not hide your identity and skills from them?
And to love a tissue paper woman? A noted Science Fiction author (Larry Niven) who inspired this answer of mine wrote a short article called "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex" to explain the obvious problems of love making between a Kryptonian and Human.
No sex, no pride, no glory, no challenge, no fun.

Yes- most people do consider him to be the best actor to ever play Superman. "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman II" are two of the best superhero movies to ever be made. Tom Welling has really grown into the role on "Smallville" and Tim Daly is praised by fans of "Superman: The Animated Series" for his voice acting role as Superman. However, Christopher Reeve receives the credit for being the best.
