That is a urban legend. Bruno Kirby passed away in 2006. I have heard the same thing that he did pass away before City Slickers 2 and that is why Jon Lovitzs was cast for the movie instead. However after going to Imdb.com and looked
up Bruno Kirby I found that he didn't die before 1994. People and the news make up urban legends, myths and gossip. They said the same thing about Bob Hope saying he died in the late 90's. Why Bruno Kirby wasn't in City Slickers 2 is a mystery to me.
