Ukemi is the English spelling of the Japanese word meaning break-fall, typically referring to a controlled fall forward.
The Japanese term for landing safely is "ukemi"
Chugari: Rolling Breakfall in Japanese martial arts also know as Zempo Kaiten Ukemi
I have seen ukemi defined a couple different ways: 1. Rebounding from the ground: This would encompass all rolls, break falls and etc methods for falling safely. 2. Another way it is used in Japanese arts is the Uke /Tore relationship . In this training format you have an attacker (usually the Uke) and the defender (Tore). Uke initiates the aggression and then is required to "take a fall" while an appropriate technique is applied. It is the responsibillity of the Uke to give a convincing attack with the correct intention and yet still remain somewhat non-combative as the tore applies any given technique. Again Uke is receiving the technique. Hope this helps.
Hit every button on the Game Cube Controller all at once annnnnd.... NOTHING SPECIAL WILL HAPPEN! If you want to win as a specific character... THEN PRACTICE!!! You can use www.smashbros.com (The official Smash site, made by the creator of Smash Bros.) or SmashWiki for tech help. But that's all moot if you don't put in the time. Learn all the basics, shield, dodge, SMASHES, Perfect-Shield (Literally a tech), Ukemi (A VERY useful trick to get used to), PROPER recovery techniques, etc. Obviously, this all applies to every character, just the way some of them are timed/used will differ.
