Please post a new, separate question with the coin's country of origin. If it says ONE CENT, it's a US Large Cent. If it says ONE PENNY, it's a British penny.
Technically the official name of the American coin is cent. The penny was never the name of any US currency. A penny is British currency. In the past the penny had a relatively low value. It still isn't worth much. At this time a penny is defined as one hundredth of a British pound. But many people refer to the cent as a penny.

All British bronze Pennies from 1860 to 1967 have the words "ONE PENNY" on the reverse.
The smallest denomination used to be the farthing, which was worth 1/4 of one penny.
The value of an orange one half penny varies by the year of the penny and the condition.
