Value of 1854 Louis philippe I 5 franc coin?

I would question the coin. I believe that Napoleon III was the portrait on coins minted in 1855 for France. Questioner does not specify also if coin is gold or silver as both were minted in 1855. Basis of my answer is from a 1994 edition of World Coins by Chester Krause and Clifford Mischler. Another factor would be the condition and authenticity of the coin.

In general we can value about 30 dollars,

but it depends on the "letter" on the coin :

A, B, BB, D, H, I, K, L, M, MA.

The most interesting coin is the 1834L : only 359.402 coins were struck, value : about 75 dollars !
