It depends on the volume of the gold that is plated on the jewelry, but when an item is electro plated, the plating material is usually very thin - less than 0.01mm - so there is hardly any volume of gold. So even though gold is expensive, a gold-plated item is worth just a few pence (cents) more than the item would be if it did not have the gold.
This is ok if you want to buy inexpensive jewelry, where the main thing is whether it looks good, but you won't be able to sell it for any money.
Heavy Gold Electroplated ... not worth anything!
Anything faberge piece marked "Franklin Mint" is only worth about 1/2 of what you paid for it........
If you want to know if a piece of jewelry is real, take it to a jeweler. All that a marking on it really tells you is that someone stamped a marking onto it.

The Bing Ring is Emma's new movie. It is based on real events in which teens went into celeb's homes and stole anything worth money. Since they are still in the process of filming it's not known when Bling Ring will come out.
Oh, dude, a class ring with Balfour GTC engraved on it? Well, technically, it's worth whatever sentimental value you attach to it. Like, in the grand scheme of things, it's probably not gonna make you rich or anything. But hey, if it brings back some high school memories or makes you feel nostalgic, then I guess you could say it's worth something, right?
Stamps like the one you ask about are the initials of the designer or company. There also should be gold or silver content. The initials add no value to your ring.
