∙ 12y agoUnfortunately, these, regardless of their age, are very rarely of any value at all. There's only a few cases where they can be. One, obviously, if they're by someone historically important they can be of value.
Two, if they're related to historically important places, events, or items, in some direct way, they can be again worth more than an average letter.
Third, if they establish history and provenance of an item you have they can add value and information to the item together with it, but aren't particularly worth anything themselves.
I wish I could say something better about them, but a large amount of people wrote letters and kept all letters they received, and they are incredibly common on the market. It never hurts to get an in-person opinion from someone who can read them and see if they're of any value, look around your area for a local paper or general antique dealer.
