Unlike some countries, the US has not devalued postage for over 100 years. The stamps are still valid for their face value. You still need 44 cents to mail a first class letter, but you can get that with any combination of stamps.

Stamps issued since 1865 never expire. You can use them as long as the total equals the correct rate (41 cents currently) for the item.

Yes. 2007 postcard stamps are worth 26 cents, so if you buy two 1 cent addition stamps and put those along with the 2007 cent stamp your postcard will be mailed.
