Dasign of T- beam is some what similar to rectangular beam, in design slab thickness is determined first. the slab is acts as compression flange in designing the beam. the flange acts as compression zone, which is balance by steel embeded in the bottom web of the beam.

slab thickness= t, in.

effective depth= d, in.

width of web= b', in.

flange width= b, in.

width of flange should be least of the three alternatives,

1. span/4.

2. b' + 16t.

3. centre to centre spacing of beams.

What is the difference between an you beam and a beam?

A u-beam is a type of beam that has a cross-section resembling the letter "U", while a standard beam typically has a rectangular or square cross-section. U-beams are often used in construction and engineering for their specific load-bearing capabilities and design versatility.

How can calculate angle of beam spread in rectangular beam transducer probe?

To calculate the beam spread angle in a rectangular beam transducer probe, you can use trigonometry. The beam spread angle can be calculated using the dimensions of the probe, usually the width and height of the rectangular aperture. You can use trigonometric functions like tangent or arcsine to determine the angle of beam spread based on the dimensions of the probe.

What is the difference between a column and a beam?

What is the difference between inverted beam and drop beam?

An inverted beam is a beam whose bottom is the same as the slab. A drop beam is a beam that is put under the structural member it supports.

What is the difference between a beam and a bar?

Why is an I-Beam stronger in its weight than a simple rectangular beam?

The vertical portion of the I-beam resists shear force better than a rectangular one. The "I" portion also deflects force because of its design.

What is Minor axis of a rectangular column or beam?

The minor axis of a rectangular column or beam is the line that goes through the center. The minor axis will be shorter than the major axis.

What is the difference between a beam of light and a ray of light?

A light beam or beam of light is a narrow cone of light energy radiating from a small source. In optics, a ray is an idealized narrow beam of light.
