there are 5 books in total in the Percy Jackson series. the first one is called " The Lightning Thief" the second one is called "The Sea of Monsters" the third one is called " The Titans Curse" the fourth one is called " The Battle of the Labryinth" and the last book is called " The Last Olympian"

the 2010 Percy Jackson series is about Percy being lost and Annabeth looking for him. She and many others including Thalia there are new characters in the end one of the new characters knows where he is. i couldn't put it down hope this helps:)

Rick Riordan didn't hear the stories from somewhere else then put it into writing - he started with a few ideas and eventually turned them into books and then a best selling series.
