Zinc will absolutely corrode. In fact, will actually do so faster than many other metals. This corrosion is not called "rust", because rust can only come from iron. So, zinc does not rust, but it definitely corrodes.

No, Zinc is now a commonly used metal in the world today because of its ability to not rust or tarnish. Zinc isa cheap metal and has replaced things like a 100% copper U.S. penny and is used to coat the outside of metals like steel, iron, copper etc.
