Ionic type of bonding is highly favored among the ionic species, where one atom has tendency to donate electrons and the other has tendency to accept electrons in order to attain a stable atomic coniguration with a filled outer shell of electrons.

The electrons in the outermost energy level of an atom, known as valence electrons, can be shared or transferred to form chemical bonds. These electrons are involved in the interactions between atoms to achieve a stable electron configuration.

valance electrons because they are on the valance or outer ring of the atom so they can be shared with other atoms. atoms with an incomplete outer ring of valance electrons are more reactive then those with a full ring.

Hope this helped this is what i am studying in science class at the moment, i find it very interesting actually and quite easy to comprehend. GOOD LUCK!

When atoms share electrons the electrical attraction of an atom for the shared electrons is called the atoms?

When atoms share electrons, the electrical attraction of an atom for the shared electrons is called the atom's electronegativity. Electronegativity is a measure of the ability of an atom to attract shared electrons towards itself in a chemical bond.

Are electrons shared or transfered between a ionic bond?

In an ionic bond, electrons are transferred from one atom to another. This results in the formation of positively and negatively charged ions that are attracted to each other due to their opposite charges.

How many electrons are shared in NCl3?

In NCl3, nitrogen shares 3 electrons with each chlorine atom, totaling 3 shared electrons between nitrogen and each chlorine atom for a total of 9 shared electrons in the molecule.

What is the tendency of an atom to attract shared electrons in a bond?

Electronegativity is the tendency of an atom to attract shared electrons in a bond. Atoms with higher electronegativity values attract the shared electrons more strongly, leading to uneven distribution of electrons in a covalent bond.

When one atom has a stronger attraction for shared electrons in a bond than the other atom?

This creates a polar covalent bond, where the electrons are unequally shared between the atoms due to the higher electronegativity of one atom. The atom with higher electronegativity attracts the shared electrons more towards itself, creating partial charges on the atoms.

The atom with the what attraction for shared electrons in the molecule is the what atom.?

The atom with the greater attraction for shared electrons in the molecule is the more electronegative atom.

Which electrons are shared in molecules?

In metallic bonding, the valence electrons freely 'jump' from atom to atom, forming kind of an electron sea.

What is formed when electrons are transfered between atom?

An ionic bond forms when electrons are transferred between atoms.

As a bond between a hydrogen atom and a sulfur atom is formed electrons are?

The pair of electrons is shared to form a covalent bond.

Is it true that when atoms form bonds electrons may be transfered or shared between atoms?

true

Why do conducturs conduct electricity?

conductors conduct electricity well because the electrons are easily transfered from atom to atom.

How many shared electrons in CO32?

For the CO32- ion, there are a total of 10 shared electrons. Each oxygen atom contributes 2 electrons, and the carbon atom contributes 4 electrons. These shared electrons form covalent bonds in the ion structure.

What subatomic particle is involved in bonding when it is shared or transfered?

These particles are the electrons with negative electrical charge.
