Not sure of what you mean exactly but all viruses are non living entities.

Viruses have a complex make up of molecules which include proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acids and lipids, but on their own can do nothing. They must have a host cell in order to multiply.

Once a host cell is encountered a series of chemical changes take place causing the cell to multiply. These chemical changes are completely passive.
