Milk and and all dairy products(cheese, yogurt) are rich in calcium. If you do not enjoy consuming those foods than try taking calcium supplements. They have them in chewable "candies."

Cheese, milk, yogurt and other dairy products are rich in calcium. Sesame seeds, tofu, dried herbs, almonds, flax seeds, Brazil nuts, herring fish and green leafy vegetables such as kale are also high in calcium.

Some Calcium containing foods are:
  • Calcium is often found in dairy products.
  • Orange Juice

    milk

    salmon

    yoghurt

    cheese

    tofu

    ice cream

    broccoli

    soy milk

    dried figs

However, none of these actually contains Calcium in the carbonate form. For that, you would need to consume ground oyster shells, bone, or ground limestone. And, it probably not very good for you, as these substances would neutralize your stomach acid and reduce your ability to digest proteins.

There are many foods that contain calcuim - such as dairy products and green vegetables. Here are a few examples of foods that contain calcium (there are many others, but not all of them are healthy foods, such as ice cream, or foods that are good for you in the long term):

  • broccoli
  • kale
  • collard greens
  • bok choi
  • mustard green
  • sardines
  • almonds
  • salmon
  • sesame seeds
  • spinach
  • cheeses (such as Swiss, Cheddar, Parmesan, ricotta, mozzarella, etc., etc.
  • beans
  • hummus
  • milk
  • yogurt
  • orange
  • rhubarb
  • fortified cereal (these are refined processed carbohydrates)
  • oysters
  • firm tofu

Many low-fat dairy foods have increased calcium content because the fat portion is replaced with an equal portion part of skimmed milk. For example, a portion of skim or low-fat milk has more calcium than a portion of whole milk. This is because almost all of the portion is made up of the calcium-containing portion.

milk, yogurt, cheese, and cereal (General Mills), veggies, and some fruit.

Any dietary source of calcium will count toward the child's daily intake, but low-fat milk is clearly the most efficient and readily available. Lactose-free milk, soy and rice drinks have recently become more easily obtainable and less expensive.
