When camphor hits water, it will begin to spin around in circular motions. This is because the camphor has rough edges, and the water is pushing on it on all sides.

When you place the tip of your finger on the surface of the water though, the oil on your finger spreads across the water (pushing the camphor away from your finger)and gets under the camphor to stop it from spinning (the oil blocks the contact of the water and camphor). Once removed, the camphor will start to spin again. After a time has passed, the camphor will stop spinning all together and most will dissolve into the water itself.

When camphor crystals are put in water, they do not dissolve but rather float on the surface due to their low density. Over time, the camphor crystals will slowly sublimate (change from solid to gas) and release their characteristic scent.

When camphor crystals are put in water, they spin around as if being propelled by an unseen force. If you put a finger into the water, they stop spinning.

What happens when you put borax crystals in hot water?

When borax crystals are placed in hot water, they dissolve due to the increased kinetic energy of the water molecules, breaking the crystal structure. This forms a solution of borax in water, which can be used for various applications such as cleaning, laundry, or as a flux in metallurgy.

How can you separate a mixture of iron filings sand and camphor?

To separate the mixture, you can use a magnet to attract and remove the iron filings first. Then, you can add water to the remaining mixture, as sand will sink and camphor will float. By decanting the water, separated sand and camphor can be obtained.

What happens to sugar if put into hot water?

When sugar is put into hot water, it dissolves and forms a sugar solution. The heat increases the molecular motion of the water molecules, allowing them to break the bonds holding the sugar crystals together. As the sugar dissolves, it becomes evenly distributed throughout the water, resulting in a sweet solution.

How do you use bath crystals?

To use bath crystals, simply add them to a warm bath as the tub is filling up. Allow the crystals to dissolve completely in the water before soaking in the bath. Enjoy the aromatic and soothing benefits of the bath crystals while you relax.

What happens to sugar when it is put into cold water and not stirred?

If sugar is put in cold water and not stirred, it will dissolve slowly over time as the water molecules interact with the sugar crystals. Stirring helps to speed up the process by breaking down the sugar crystals and allowing them to mix more readily with the water.
