Here are seven cons for coal energy. The first is Greenhouse Gas Emissions. One of the biggest cons of Coal Energy is that it releases Carbon Dioxide which has been sequestered for millions of years in the dead bodies of plant and animals. The next is Coal Mining Deaths. Coal Mining has resulted in thousands of deaths each year ever since man discovered coal. A third is Devastation of Earth and Scenery near Coal Mines. Open Cast Mining of Coal has resulted in destruction of the habitat and destruction of the scenery. A forth is Displacement of Humans due to Mining Destruction. In West Bengal, India people are being displaced in huge numbers as the hollowing of the earth due to underground coal mining has made those places unsafe as the Land Caves in without warning. A fifth is Emission of Harmful Substances like Sulfur Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Mercury, Selenium, Arsenic, and Acid Rain. Thermal Plants emit harmful substances such as Mercury and Sulfur Dioxide which cause health hazards among the surrounding population and Acid Rain. A sixth is Global Warming. Coal is the Biggest Contributor to Global Warming generating billions of tons of carbon dioxide during. The last is price. Prices for all fossil fuels are rising, especially if the real cost of their carbon is included.

Coal energy is harmful to the environment due to the release of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, leading to air pollution and contributing to climate change. Coal mining can also cause significant land degradation, water pollution, and harm to local ecosystems. Additionally, the health of the communities living near coal power plants is negatively impacted by the emissions of harmful pollutants.

What are the 3 pros and cons about coal?

Pros of coal: abundant and reliable source of energy, relatively low cost compared to other energy sources, established infrastructure for extraction and utilization. Cons of coal: significant greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution when burned, environmental degradation from mining and waste disposal, non-renewable and finite resource.

What are pros and cons of coal?

Pros of coal: abundant and relatively inexpensive source of energy, provides a stable source of electricity production. Cons of coal: emits large amounts of greenhouse gases and other pollutants like sulfur dioxide, contributes to air and water pollution, and its extraction and burning can have negative impacts on human health and the environment.

What types of energy are in coal?

The main types of energy in coal are chemical energy, which is released when coal is burned, and potential energy stored within the coal itself. When coal is burned, the chemical energy is converted into thermal energy, which can be used for generating electricity or heating.

What is coal energy?

Coal energy refers to the use of coal as a fuel source to generate heat or electricity. This involves burning coal to produce steam, which then drives turbines to generate electricity. However, coal energy is associated with environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

The chemical energy stored in coal is called .?

The chemical energy stored in coal is called potential energy. This energy is released when coal is burned or combusted, converting it into heat energy.
