The purpose of a duck's beak is to allow the duck to quack. The quack sound resonates when the diaphraghm muscle contracts forcing the trapped air upwards into the oesophagus. The quacktorial gland in the beak then opens and closes to create an echo effect and therefore creating the sound we hear, commonly known as a quack. This is also why a duck's quack does not echo!
I think this may be the Greylag Goose.
I find that the very tip of the beak of a male goose is usually white or light colored while the beak of the female is a darker or black.
Duck and Goose are water fowl and use the bill to move water. Turkeys and chickens are peckers and use their sharp beaks to peck into the ground
a tearing beak
Watch out for that goose!
The use of any beak of a bird is to find and pick up food.
The goose's feet were green.
its not a duck its a Chinese goose
Yes they do (as do all birds). The nostrils are usually at the base of the beak; the kiwi is an exception because the nostrils are at the tip of the beak. Some birds (eg the turkey vulture) hav a tremendous sense of smell.

The beak of a pigeon is smaller than the beak of a hawk.
