keep a close eye on your new born budgies and the heat in the area they are kept and keeping them warm at night if possible. The mother and father will feed them , but if the mother dies you may have to feed them yourself by buying a feeding mixture from your local pet store vet.

when your baby's have there first feathers then you can take them out and rear them if selling or just to get used to you as i did with my first clutch and now the parents are having more

i hope this gives you an idea on what to do

Supply them with a cage, food, clean water, cuttle fish and mineal block. Give stimulation and entertainment with budgie toys and a bath.

Clean them out once a week and let them out of the cage to fly if its possible. Budgies prefer company and if left alone for to long will become distressed. Apart from this they are really good fun and good company.

I force feed them with a syringe after every meal. They will not eat if you don it. I also cuddle with them. Like human babies, baby birds like to feel your heart beat. it is important to take good care of them. Make sure that you know how to get the syringe in the right possition and place.

If the birds is on its own, remove them - either eat them or throw them away.

How long is a budgies gestation for?

Birds including budgies do not get 'pregnant' they lay eggs, incubate the eggs which then hatch into chicks.I saw my budgies mate together Dec. 26, 2010. I separated them to another cage, away from my other 3 budgies. I put in their cage 2 nesting boxes. Every day I checked for eggs. Today, Jan. 24, 2011, I found 2 eggs in the corner of their cage, on the floor of the cage. They did not like the nesting boxes I provided. That is about a month gestation.
