The Dodo bird was a flightless bird, (unable to fly) and was discovered by explorers. The explorers told everybody about these birds and how easy to kill they were. They were easy to kill because they had never encountered humans before and did not know what to do. The explorers killed the birds, until they were all gone. In other words they were hunted to extinction.

No, the dodo bird (now extinct) was flightless. This was because its wings were too small to lift its weight off the ground.
