But with patience, an older one will come around as well. A parrot is a pet that NEEDS a great deal of attention. If you don't have the desire to spend lots of time with the parrot, perhaps another pet should be chosen. Parrots who are just put in a cage and given insufficient attention will develop neurotic behaviors. Screeching. Feather plucking. Biting. Aggressiveness. With a roomy cage, daily interaction with it's human family, a nutritious diet, fresh air & sunshine, and plenty of opportunities to be out of the cage for exercise, a parrot can be tamed.
