Yes, especially Ancient Roman Town Criers, who were considered business men.
i do not know who invented town criers, but i do know that they were supposed to tell people news and warn people
Because a non-mechanical clock strikes the hour before the town criers finish their stories (apex)
Street criers were often market works and tradesmen so they would sing chant and occasionally play music in the street. They did this to attract customers and get them to buy there product. You know the famous song "Hot cross buns"? Its one of the street criers songs. Street criers were different to town criers as town criers would announce the town news and stories and would shout and not sing or chant. I hope this has helped! LB xx

A common toilet plunger can be used as a cup mute or a wah-wah mute. In a sticky situation it can mimic the sound of a straight mute if held very tightly to the bell, but it doesn't sound quite like a straight mute would.
The bell was originally used to announce the time on ships. Then it was used by the town criers to announce the news to small communities. As communities grew the churches adopted the bell to call the people to worship and as a warning that danger was approaching. Teachers used a smaller bell to call children to school. Bells were rung across the country to announce the signing of the Declaration of Independence and Liberty from the King of England. Thus the bell that cracked during this event was called the Liberty Bell.
