Most parrots come from the Amazon jungle, which is in South America. Parrots and Macaws are jungle birds who eat fruit and nuts. They are brightly colored because the jungle is dark and gloomy, and there aren't any really big predators that they have to hide from in there. Most of the predators are raptors who fly above the jungle.
