green fly do bite and it does cause inflammation, the best form of defence is to stay on your guard with a rolled up news paper ready to swat them away. At all cost do not get sucked in by the way they look ( harmless an cute) this is not the case the little blighter's bight and it hurts. So if one lands on you kill it straight away.
no green flies are just another type of fly there is nothing to worry about they my bite and live a little mark like the common black fly but they are not poisonous.
