first off, do not wear tight shoes. let your feet breath! (just be careful so that you don't bang it). I went to a podiatrist to get it clipped, and he actually said to not use epsom salts, but he gave me these special drops to use instead. If you go to a podiatrist, they will probably give you an alternative other than epsom salts. also, do not pick at it. do not try cutting into it to try to get the nail out. it will work itself out with the epsom salts. you will only irritate it by digging into it...and for the future, i have found that it is very helpful to avoid cutting toenails in a peaked look. cut stright across or even leave the edges a little longer 9not by much, but it avoids the chance of an ingrown toenail. not fun, i know) hope that helps!
Soak the affected foot in warm, soapy water to soften the skin and reduce pain. Gently lift the ingrown edge of the nail and place a small piece of cotton or dental floss underneath to help it grow over the skin instead of into it. Apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.
It can be, to make sure about your condition do a medical check up. for reference about yeast infection you can visit http://www.yeastinfectioncenter.org and more about nail fungus on http://www.nailfungusrelief.info

Metronidazole gel is not typically used to treat toenail fungus. Topical antifungal medications such as terbinafine or ciclopirox are generally more effective for treating toenail fungus. It's best to consult with a healthcare provider for an appropriate treatment plan.
An ingrown toenail occurs when the edge of the toenail grows into the skin instead of over it. This can cause pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. Proper nail cutting technique and wearing comfortable shoes can help prevent ingrown toenails.
Go to a doctor right away to get some medication
Ingrown toenails hurt because what is happening is that your toenail is penetrating the skin. when anything penetrates your skin it will hurt. The toenail will press on nerves in the toe. another reason that it hurts is that it is infected. The way to treat an infected ingrown toenail is to remove the toenail from the opening in the skin with nail trimmers then soak the toe in warm salt water. Hope this helps!!
rip it off then stick it in dirt then let it get infected and then go to the doctor
It should not be necessary unless it becomes infected.
If you don't take good care of it, there is a large possibility that it would get infected and turn into a toenail fungus. Toenail fungus is largely caused by poor hygiene practice, so with a broken nail plus poor hygiene that would lead into a fungal infection.
An ingrown toenail. It may be infected and need medical treatment.
Ointment that you can apply on a black and blue toenail includes Neosporin. This will not likely help with the bruising, but it can keep it from getting infected, and may help with the pain.
In order to protect your toenail, you should:Soak it in epsom salt,Put a bandage around it to prevent dirt or germs from infecting it,Wear shoes at all times.Your toenail will eventually grow back, but you need to keep taking care of it so it won't get infected, because that will prohibit growth of the new nail.
you should, or it could get infected i would recommend going to the doctor to get it removed in an operation should only be about an hour
Yes; but possibly not as effective as prescription. Also, you will need to throw out your shoes so that you do not become re-infected.
It is recommended to seek treatment from a healthcare professional, such as a podiatrist or a doctor, for the removal of an ingrown and infected toenail. They have the expertise and tools necessary to properly diagnose and treat the condition, reducing the risk of complications or further infection.
well first you rinse it off in warm water, then you apply a band-aid.if in gets infected see your doctor, and get medication.
