what medication to take for sciatic nerve pain. already tried ibuprofen, aleve and ibuprofen.

A better question is what is causing the pain. If you have tried those medications and had no relief you should see your Doctor for further investigations. An MRI can show up slipped discs, bulging and disc protrusion and nerve compression. Once the cause of the problem is identified, new options for treatment can be used.

Common medications to manage sciatic pain include nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen or naproxen, muscle relaxants, and in some cases, oral corticosteroids. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider before taking any medication for sciatic pain to ensure it is safe and effective for your specific situation.

Very, VERY carefully. Techincally, you don't work the nerve at all, but the muscles and tissue surrounding it. This probably takes hands on instruction from an expert to learn how to do without injury.

Sciatic pain is usually associated with tingling or pain running down one leg radiating from the sciatic nerve which is situated in the lower back. This pain is usually associated with some damage to the sciatic nerve and can be caused, particularly in older people by spinal degeneration.

If you have pain due to this "pinching" of the nerve, treatment can be a little as taking pain relievers and/or cortisone or surgery.

Sciatic nerves are usually cause by having a herniated disc. Infections and injuries can also cause this health related problem. Irritation of the nerve during pregnancy may also be a reason.

What does sciatic mean?

"Sciatic" refers to the sciatic nerve, which is the longest and thickest nerve in the human body. It runs from the lower back, through the hips and buttocks, and down each leg. Sciatic pain or sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, typically caused by compression or irritation of the nerve.

Can the sciatic nerve cause pain in neck left arm and left leg?

The sciatic nerve typically runs from the lower back down through the leg, so it wouldn't directly cause pain in the neck or arm. However, issues in the lower back where the sciatic nerve originates can sometimes radiate pain down the leg, but not usually to the neck or arm. Pain in the neck and arm may be due to separate issues such as a cervical spine problem or shoulder injury.

What is the inflammation of the sciatic nerve that results in pain burning and tingling along the course of the affected nerve?

Sciatica is the inflammation of the sciatic nerve that causes pain, burning, and tingling sensations along the nerve pathway, typically originating from the lower back and radiating down the back of one leg. It can be caused by various conditions, such as a herniated disc or spinal stenosis, and treatments may include rest, physical therapy, and medication.

What muscle in the buttock crosses the sciatic nerve?

Could a small quarter-sized lump on your back about an inch to the right of the spine cause back spasms leg numbness and sciatic pain?

It is unlikely that a small quarter-sized lump on your back could directly cause back spasms, leg numbness, and sciatic pain. These symptoms are more commonly associated with nerve irritation or compression, such as with a bulging disc or sciatic nerve impingement. It is recommended to see a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and diagnosis.
