A Plant cell have two unique organellesthat separates a animal cell to a plant cell and a common one that changes when a plant cell develops from a young cell to a older cell.

  1. Cell wall - protects and support the structure of the cell and filter and mange how substance go in and out the cell.
  2. Plastids - containers that often contain pigments. (There are three types of plastids)
    1. Chloroplasts - contains the green pigment substances, chlorophyll which traps light energy from the sun and use it for photosynthesis.
    2. Chromoplast - contains coloured pigments which is responsible for fruits and flowers colours. (yellow pigment = Xanthophyll and orange pigment = Carotene)
    3. Leucoplast - contains colorless pigments where starch is stored
  3. A large central Vacuole (only in older plant cells)- Stores food, water, minerals
