Cell division is the process by which a single cell divides to form two daughter cells, whereas cell differentiation is the process by which cells become specialized to perform specific functions. Cell enlargement refers to an increase in cell size without cell division.

Cell enlargement and differentiation are two interrelated processes specially in plants. In plants both are consective, but not in animals.

Cell enlargement is most pronounced in shoot and root apices in plants.Cell enlargement takes place in 2nd growth zone just behind tip.Plant cell absorb water which is stored in vacuole as sap. this exerts pressure on cell wall which expands due to elasticity and cell enlarges upto150 times. In animals cell enlargement takes place during G1 phase of Interphase.

Differentiation is more complicated process which involves turning on of some specific genes and turnig off of some other genes eg in muscle cells genes controlling actin and myosin turn on while genes of pepsin turn off ,thus different types of cells are produced.

Difference between embryonic growth and cell differentiation?

Embryonic growth refers to the overall increase in size and complexity of an embryo as it develops into a mature organism. Cell differentiation is the process by which cells become specialized to perform specific functions, such as becoming muscle cells or nerve cells. Embryonic growth involves both cell proliferation and cell differentiation as the embryo develops.

What is the difference between hypertrophy and hyperlasia?

Hypertrophy refers to the enlargement of existing cells, resulting in an increase in the size of an organ or tissue. Hyperplasia, on the other hand, involves an increase in cell number through cell division, leading to the growth of the organ or tissue. Essentially, hypertrophy involves cells growing bigger, while hyperplasia involves more cells being produced.

Is there a difference between binary fusion and cell division?

Yes, there is a difference between binary fission and cell division. Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction common in prokaryotic organisms where a cell divides into two daughter cells. Cell division, on the other hand, is the process by which a parent cell divides to form two daughter cells, and can occur through mitosis in eukaryotic cells.

What is one difference between cancer cells and normal cells?

One key difference is that cancer cells can divide uncontrollably whereas normal cells have a regulated cell division process. This uncontrolled division is one of the factors that leads to tumor formation in cancer cells.

What is the difference between differential and differentiation?

A differential is the result gained when mathematical differentiation is applied to a function. Differentiation in maths is the function which finds the gradient of a function in terms of x. Differentiation in biology is the specialisation of unspecialised cells such as stem cells into active cells.

Difference between a subsidiary and a division?

The difference between a subsidiary and a division is how they operate. A subsidiary is a separate business owned by the main parent company. A division is a portion of the main business.

What is the difference between nonlinear and linear equations?

== Linear equations are those that use only linear functions and operations. Examples of linearity: differentiation, integration, addition, subtraction, logarithms, multiplication or division by a constant, etc. Examples of non-linearity: trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan, etc.), multiplication or division by variables.
